Mainly pics. The place was fairly full of German tourists as I think there are cheap flights and its the 'nice' part of Iran. The souks are huge and weave their way across a large part of central Esfahan. You could easily spend days wandering around and never repeat an alley.
Hand stamping ancient patterns on table cloths or coverings. Natural dyes and been making them way for centuries.
Supposedly the largest 'enclosed' square in the world.
Found this restaurant during our walk around the square and decided to return that night for dinner
Peter and Ben looking pretty contented with their meal. Most people there were far better dressed than us!
Me at one of the many bridges that cross the Zayandeh Rud.
Souks are always good. Love 'em!
Esfahan was so clean and obviously loved by the locals. They know they're on a winner and aim to keep it that way. A bit more pricey than smaller towns, but still a reasonably cheap destination. The hotel was about $30 per night and offered secure parking for our bikes.
The trip so far, is shown on the 'spot tracker' map. Our position via GPS was loaded up every 10 minutes, as long as had the damn thing turned on and the batteries weren't flat. Thanks to Dave Prior for downloading these for me.

Off the sides of the square are many smaller alleys with great little tea houses. Dave and I stumbled across one that I had read about over the years and was happy to be able to have a tea there.

Geeze you're rubbing it in. I really wish I was there. How's the budget holding out? Bikes okay?
